The Story of Faust
Faust is located in the rural foothills of the German Alps. From here we design, manufacture and distribute furniture, with particular expertise in customised linoleum tables. We combine the care and intimacy of a traditional family-run workshop with advanced and environmentally responsible manufacturing.
Our story began several decades ago with a small business in Berlin making high quality wooden furniture for a select clientele. Founder Franz Faust imagined a more democratic practice built on the principles of efficient and responsible manufacturing. This vision of a high-tech carpentry business with the client and the planet at its centre became the Faust methodology we follow today.
This approach was brought to new heights under the leadership of Antonia Faust. She grew up with a strong appreciation for the craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability that have defined the family business since its beginning. Under her guidance, Faust revolutionised its production process, introducing a fully digitalised system that makes customisation highly efficient while preserving the artisanal quality Faust is known for.
Modern craftsmanship
We place utility at the heart of the Faust system. In addition to being beautiful and practical, our furniture is designed for efficient manufacture and for longevity of use. Customer focus is more than an empty marketing promise; it is our core business. Our configurator, a tool that enables customers to design their own furniture, is the best example of how this works in practice. Every Faust table and table top is made to meet customer demands.
At Faust, efficiency and responsibility go hand in hand. Our choice of materials exemplifies this. In particular, linoleum has become synonymous with Faust. Linoleum is tough and attractive, high-performing and sustainable. We have pioneered its use as a furniture material, creating many original designs that maximise its unique qualities.

Design
We specialise in making custom tables and table tops, but our collection includes much more. All our products including seating, office furniture, accessories and occasional furniture, are designed to make the most of our production processes and material palette.
We have integrated off-cut material and waste into new designs, minimising production leftovers. We ensure our designs are adaptable, repairable and age gracefully. This is so our clients can continue to get the most from their Faust furniture for generations to come.
The Production
Over half of the energy used in production comes from the photovoltaic system installed on our production facility’s roof, with the remainder sourced from green energy suppliers. Table bases and other furniture are designed and produced by Faust as well. Each original Faust product is designed to optimise our existing manufacturing processes.
Our direct distribution and our efficient production system mean that we are able to offer a high quality product at a competitive price.

Packaging & Delivery
Each piece of Faust furniture is individually packed for its journey, with packaging materials precisely cut to size for every order. Taking care means we avoid accidental damage during transportation and the environmental impact of remaking and redelivering a product. We package our products in ink-free corrugated cardboard and paper tape, avoiding polystyrene, polyurethane foam and plastic. Faust drivers will optionally unpack products and return recyclable packaging to our factory for it to be used again.
The Faust process doesn’t end when our furniture leaves our facility in Huglfing. In many ways, it has only just begun. Your order is delivered directly from our factory to your front door. This not only reduces our costs for transportation and logistics, but also gives us full control over ensuring that your table arrives safely and with minimal packaging.
Faust’s own drivers deliver across Germany and Europe using specially equipped vans. While not yet fully electrical, our fleet reduces CO2 emissions by only leaving the factory with a full load. Each van takes the most energy-efficient route. We aim to deliver furniture swiftly, but by allowing us small flexibility our customers help us make large reductions in CO2 emissions.
Aftercare
Ensuring longevity is the single most environmentally impactful thing we can do. As part of our service to our customers, we provide advice on how to take care of your Faust furniture. We offer a broad range of accessories, care products and services for repair and lifespan extension.
